Why I am an Obama Mama!

Article originally written for my Yahoo Group on October 5th, 2008.

Presidents in general are like the president described in the book, "A
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". They don't do a lot. They do
however, inspire. I don't believe for a moment that Obama is going to
be able to accomplish the feat of solving all our woes, like health
care reform, getting out of Iraq and getting the economy going.

He is going to help us believe in what we can do for our country
again. Hope is worth something to all of us that have faced hopeless
situations. Some folks just really do need some help from the government.

Do you think that Sarah Palin is going to support all of us that are a
bit kinky and freaky out there?? I happen to be a believer in radical
changes that make the world a more human and sensitive place to be. I
am NOT a hockey mom. I am not a pit bull in lip stick. I don't want
our society to be a Spartan society, always looking for a new war to
spend all of our money on. Our budgets in congress and the senate
should be going to shoring up our health care gaps, building bridges
and getting the supreme court out of our wombs. It should not be about
sending more troops to foreign countries and supplying war machines to
them.

There are a few hundred thousand troops in Iraq that are needing ALL
of our federal monies, according to John McCain. Conversely, 260
million people here at home are supposed to fend for ourselves when it
comes to federal money help? I think not. We need help NOW from the
federal government. If John McCain is elected, he has promised not to
spend one single dime on you here at home. Just spend more money on
the military. Let me ask you this, "What war did John win for us?"
Vietnam? NOT. So, do you want your son or daughter to get the same
treatment he did in some foreign prison camp? Have you heard the clips
about being at war for 100 years, or 1000, according to him?
